The Year of the Horse: A Lantern of Inner Light- An In Person Workshop Burnt hills Studio
Chinese New Year 2026
In honor of the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse, participants are invited to create a simple illuminated lantern that reflects the light they carry into a new year.
The horse has long been a symbol of vitality, movement, perseverance, and inner strength. In this hands-on workshop, guests will paint a mason jar lantern and place a single, simplified horse silhouette inside the glass. When softly lit from within, the horse emerges as a quiet symbol of momentum and purpose — a reminder of the energy we choose to carry forward.
As the lantern is painted and illuminated, participants are encouraged to reflect on personal intention:
What light are you bringing into 2026?
What inner strength is ready to move forward?
No art experience is necessary. This workshop is designed to be welcoming to all ages and abilities, offering a calm, meaningful creative experience and a finished lantern to take home — one that glows gently as both object and symbol.
