Light, Memory & the Inner Horizon: A Hands-On Creative Experience at The Hyde Collection
This workshop invites participants to slow down and explore landscape not as something we look at, but as something we enter.
Inspired by the Hudson River School’s reverence for light, atmosphere, and inner experience, Becoming the Landscape guides participants through close looking in the galleries, reflective prompts, and a gentle, process-based art practice. Using soft, tactile materials, we will explore how memory, light, and personal perception shape what we see—and how we see ourselves within the world.
This is not about learning to draw a traditional landscape or achieving a finished product. Instead, participants are encouraged to notice subtle shifts in tone, feeling, and attention, allowing their work to emerge slowly and intuitively.
No prior art experience is needed—just a willingness to notice, reflect, and explore.
