Becoming the Landscape: Atmosphere, Weather & the Seen/Unseen
At The Hyde Collection
Thursday March 19 5-6PM Art After Hours - Register @ The Hyde Museum
$20 / $10 members
This workshop invites participants to explore landscape as a perceptual and atmospheric experience shaped by light, weather, and memory. Inspired by the Hudson River School’s reverence for sky, luminosity, and environmental presence, participants will engage in close looking within the galleries followed by a contemplative, process-based art practice. Using fluid media and layered mark-making, each person will create an abstract atmospheric study that reflects their own sensory response to shifting conditions of light and space.
Rather than focusing on traditional representation, the experience emphasizes attentiveness, observation, and intuitive response. No prior art experience is required—only a willingness to slow down, notice, and explore.
