Take I-87 (NYS Thruway) north to Exit 20 (Saugerties). Then follow Rte. 32 north to Rte. 32A to Palenville. Turn left at the light in Palenville onto Rte. 23A, and follow this into Tannersville (7 miles). The Red Barn will be on your right.

BY CAR FROM NYC

Please note these directions are exact:
Cross George Washington Bridge (upper level); take an immediate right onto the Palisades Parkway; continue several miles to the interchange of Exit 9 West to NYS Thruway 87/287, toward Albany. Follow all signs for 87N. After a drive of about 1 1/2 hour, take exit 18, New Paltz; after toll booth take first left at traffic light onto Route 299 toward New Paltz. Proceed through New Paltz and follow signs to 32 North. Turn right onto route 32 North and continue 7 miles toward Rosendale. Turn left onto 213 West immediately after the blue bridge. Proceed 2.5 miles out of town to Mossy Brook Road and turn left. Take the first immediate left after the bridge onto Mountain Road. Continue up and around for .8 of a mile and make a hard right into the driveway. Take the right fork in the driveway. Follow signs for the Sanctuary - 333 Mountain Road.

BY CAR FROM THE NORTH

Take exit 19 from I-87 to 209 South. Proceed 10.5 miles through Stone Ridge, then turn left at the 3rd light onto 213 East toward Rosendale. Go 2.5 miles through High Falls and at the bottom of the hill, turn right onto Mossy Brook Road. Take the first immediate left onto Mountain Road and up .8 of a mile. Make a hard right into the driveway. Take the right fork in the driveway.

BY BUS

NOTE: By far the easiest public transportation mode from NYC
Call Trailways, 800.858.8555, www.trailwaysny.com for information and departure times to Rosendale, NY. Bus ride from Port Authority Bus Terminal, New York City, to Rosendale takes less than 2 hours and round-trip fare is $40.60.

Buses leave NYC Port Authority Terminal at 41st Street and 8th Avenue, PURCHASE your ticket BEFORE going to the gate; you can purchase tickets at Pine Hill Trailways or a Greyhound kiosk in the South terminal. Make sure you arrive at the gate 20 minutes before departure time to ensure getting a seat.

LOCAL TAXI SERVICE: There are two taxi services available at Rosendale: Chase Transportation, 845-389-0835 and High Falls Taxi, 845-626-9620. It is necessary that the passenger call at least 24 hours ahead to reserve the taxi in order to ensure timely pick up at the bus stop in Rosendale!

BY TRAIN

METRO NORTH Train Service HUDSON LINE to 41 Main Street, at the Route 9 interchange Poughkeepsie NY, 12602 (73.5 miles to Grand Central Terminal) . Call Metro North, 212.532.4900, for information and train schedules, Poughkeepsie, NY. Train ride is about 1 ½ hours from New York City. At the Poughkeepsie station taxis are available to Lifebridge Sanctuary, Rosendale. Call 

AMTRAK Call Amtrak, 800.872.7245, for information and train schedules to Poughkeepsie, NY. Train ride is about 1 ½ hours from New York City. Reservations are advised. 

NOTE: Taxis to Rosendale are available at the Poughkeepsie station. Call Delroy Taxi: 845.452.1222. Cabs meet most trains. Some taxis will pick you up in Rosendale for your return trip - though they may require you to prepay for your return service. Call in advance for detailed information. There is a $2.00 shuttle bus with a limited schedule between Poughkeepsie train station and Rosendale Park and Ride - it takes about 45 minutes. You will need to coordinate your arrival with your group leader, the Park and Ride is 5 minutes from Lifebridge. Call in advance 888.827.8228 for shuttle schedule and fees. Ask for dispatch. 

BY AIR

STEWART/NEWBURGH AIRPORT is 45 minutes south of the Sanctuary: Car service is available to Lifebridge Sanctuary from the airport. We recommend Visconti Limousine from Stewart 845.562.5671.

ALBANY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes North of the Sanctuary: Click on the airport link for ground transportation information to the Sanctuary. We recommend a car rental although car service is available from the airport. 

All NY Metropolitan area Airports connect to Port Authority Terminal via the NYC Airporter Busses. Go to the South Terminal, 8th Ave. bet 40 & 41st Streets, for Trailways Bus service to Rosendale.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

RPI is located in Troy, N.Y., on a 275 acre hilltop campus overlooking the Hudson River.

From the South:

Take I-87, the New York State Thruway, North to Exit 23. At Exit 23, get on I-787 North to Route 7 East. Follow the directions to campus

From the North:

Take I-87, the Adirondack Northway, South to Exit 7 East. Get on Route 7 headed Eastbound. Follow the directions to campus.

From the East:

From I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike, Berkshire Spur of the New York Thruway), take Exit B1. Continue East (13.5 miles) to the exit for I-787. Take I-787 North to Route 7 East. Follow the directions to campus.

From the West:

Take I-90, the New York State Thruway, to Exit 24. From Exit 24, continue onto I-90 East. Exit onto I-787 North. Take I-787 North to Route 7 East. Follow the directions to campus.

By Plane or Train:

If you are arriving by plane, fly into the Albany International Airport. By train, travel to the Albany/Rensselaer Amtrak station. Commercial taxicabs to campus are available from both locations.

If you’re driving from the airport:

Leaving the airport, turn left onto Route 155, follow for 1/10 of a mile. At the traffic light, turn left onto Albany Shaker Road. Get on I-87 North via ramp on the left. Take exit 7 onto Route 7 toward Troy – stay on route 7 for 4.8 miles. You will want to be in the right lane of Route 7. Take the exit for Downtown Troy. You will be on 6th Avenue. At the second traffic light, make a left turn onto Peoples Avenue. Continue up the hill. At the second traffic light, make a right turn onto 15th Street. Follow 15th Street. Drive under the pedestrian bridge.

Exit: Follow Highway 401 to Kingston and exit south on Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd. (exit 615).

Follow this street south to Union Street, which is at the eighth set of traffic lights.

Turn left onto Union and continue for approximately 10 blocks to the Queen's campus.
